Do the Needles Hurt?

The sensation caused by an acupuncture needle varies.  Some people feel slight pain when the needle is inserted, comparable to
an insect bite.  After the needle is inserted and the needle is manipulated, patients will usually feel a sensation of soreness or
movement.  This sensation is known as “De Qi”, or the “Coming of Qi”, and is a completely normal sensation to experience during
treatment.
